When to drink it An afternoon tea classic, the light and refreshing Earl Grey can be enjoyed anytime of day (although its caffeine content means its best avoided too close to bedtime). Best served black with a slice of lemon and a drizzle of honey to complement the citrus of the bergamot. Ingredient Focus We use only the highest quality natural ingredients in our blends, carefully sourcing our whole leaf teas from specific regions and estates for the optimum grade and unique flavour profiles. Ceylon FBOP (Flowery Broken Orange Pekoe) This classic black tea from Sri Lanka boasts a fresh, aromatic piquancy. Grown at 5,000 metres above sea level on the eastern slopes of the central mountains of Sri Lanka’s Uva region, gives this Ceylon its distinct smooth and mellow flavour profile. Flowery broken orange pekoe teas are made of semi, small and short leaves and this broken-leaf processing makes for a bolder taste when brewed. Bergamot This fragrant, citrus fruit native to the sunny climes of the south of Italy gives Earl Grey it’s distinctive fresh flavour. The aromatic oil of the bergamot fruit can also help ease stress and lift moods. Blue Corn Flowers A scattering of vivid blue edible flowers adds a delicate flavour and beautiful bright colour to the tea
For the perfect brew, use freshly boiled water at 100°C, and infuse for 3-5 minutes.
