- The active ingredient is chlorhexidine digluconate which is an antibacterial agent that reduces the formation of dental plaque and is used to:
- Treat & prevent gum disease (where gums may bleed when brushed)
- Promote gum healing after dental surgery or treatment
- Control mouth ulcers
- Maintain mouth hygiene

You can also report side effects directly via the Yellow Card Scheme at: www.mhra.gov.uk/yellowcard. By reporting side effects you can help provide more information on the safety of this medicine.
- Do not swallow and do not use more mouthwash than the label tells you to.
- Use twice a day.
- Fill the cap to 10 ml line.
- Rinse mouth thoroughly for 1 minute then spit out.
- Gum disease: A one month course (600 ml) is recommended. Mouth ulcers & oral thrush:
- Continue to use for 2 days after healing has occurred. Denture sore mouth:
- Clean & soak your dentures in Corsodyl for 15 minutes twice a day. Dental surgery:
- Rinse as directed by your dentist. If your symptoms persist, see your dentist.

Temporary staining of teeth: Is staining continues, it can be removed with a scale and polish from your dentist or hygienest. See Patient information Leaflet (underneath) for further information. Macrogoglycerol Hydroxystearate may cause skin reactions.
Check before you use Do not use: If you have ever had an allergic reaction to chlorhexidine digluconate or any of the other ingredients (see Storage and further information) In children under 12 years unless recommended by a dentist. Anywhere other than in your mouth. Wash thoroughly if you get any in your eyes or ears. Immediately after brushing your teeth. See Take special care with Corsodyl for more information. Stop using the mouthwash and seek immediate help if you get a serious allergic reaction You may notice a change of taste or burning sensation. See Possible side effects for more information.
Toothpastes can stop Corsodyl working. Rinse your mouth thoroughly with water and wait 5 minutes after brushing your teeth before using Corsodyl. You can also use the mouthwash at a different time of day. Do not bleach fabrics that have been in contact with the mouthwash.
Pregnancy and breast feeding: You can use Corsodyl if your are pregnant or breast feeding. Possible side effects Corsodyl can have side effects, but not everybody gets them.
Stop using the mouthwash and seek immediate medical help if you get a rash, swelling of the lips, tongue, throat or face or have difficulty breathing. These effects may be symptoms of a severe allergic reaction which is very rare.
Stop using the mouthwash and tell your dentist if you get irritation of the mouth, soreness or swelling of the inside of the cheeks. These effects should go away when treatment is stopped. Other side effects that may occur: This can normally be removed by brushing.
You can avoid staining by not drinking tea, coffee or red wine - especially one hour after use, and by brushing daily with toothpaste (see Check before you use).
If staining continues it can be removed with a scale & polish from your dentist or hygienist. You can clean your dentures with denture cleaner. You may notice a change of taste or burning sensation when you first use the mouthwash. This usually goes away with continued use. If peeling of the skin inside the mouth occurs, dilute Corsodyl with an equal amount of water.

Postage and Packing Costs
Postage and packing costs will be added to the cost of your order and will depend on the total cost of the items you order and, where delivery options are provided, the option you choose.
The postage and packaging charge you will pay will be displayed on screen before you confirm your order to us. Where multiple items are included in one order, we may dispatch the items separately, in which case, you will only be charged one postage and packing charge. If your order total drops below the £10 delivery threshold due to cancelled orders, you will be charged the standard delivery rate.
Express Delivery = Charge £9.95 (We aim to deliver the next working day for orders placed before 1pm. Orders made before Friday 1pm will be delivered on Monday. Orders placed after Friday 1pm, throughout the weekend and before Monday 1pm will be delivered Tuesday)
Restricted Delivery = Charge £9.95 (Orders placed from Thursday 2pm throughout the weekend will be delivered by Tuesday). This rate is for products that cannot be sent via Royal Mail such as pressurised containers or products that require refrigeration.
Standard delivery is currently FREE for all orders over £10 (We aim to dispatch orders within 3 - 5 working days to the address provided by you in your order). Exclusions apply (refrigerated products and pressurised containers need to be sent with Restricted Delivery)
Wheelchair delivery and other large items = charge £49.95. Delivered within 3 working days on orders placed before 2pm, Monday to Friday.
Orders over £10 = No postage and packaging charge, unless a discount code is applied. Excludes wheelchairs and other large items.
Purchasing in bulk/high unit volume
Please note that when purchasing high unit volumes of single lines (10+ units) that delivery promotions are null and void. This is as a result of high volume orders not being able to be dispatched via our normal third party fulfilment. As a result for any excessive bulk orders of single lines we will be in touch regarding your order to discuss further delivery costs that will be incurred.
