This week we sit down with Marc and Kim, co-founders of the newly launched French male grooming brand Horace which provides easy-to-use products for men's skincare and haircare.
What is Horace and what makes it different from other men’s grooming brands?
Horace exists to help all men feel good in their skin. We do clean, natural, French pharmacy-quality products at affordable prices.
So, where did the inspiration come from?
We were inspired by men like us and our friends, interested in taking care of themselves.
What are the most common causes of hair loss?
Genetics! Most hair loss men experience is androgenetic alopecia, where hairline recedes on the front and the crown. It boils down to genetics. Hair loss can be caused by stress as well.
Is there anything we can do to promote hair growth and prevent hair loss?
Use a gentle shampoo free from sulphates like ours, and clean your hair twice a week, no more than that. Use a dedicated hair serum. Ours is enriched with maca extract and peptides, effective to promote hair growth and reduce hair loss.
What’s the best way to take care of the beard?
First step is cleaning the beard. The face and the beard are the most exposed parts of the body to pollution and impurities. Use a gentle beard shampoo, then apply beard oil. It moisturises, softens the beard, and reduces itchiness. Brush it to discipline it and you are all set!
What are the benefits of using bear oil, and how often should it be used?
Beard oil nourishes, moisturises, gives suppleness, volume, adds shine, and reduces itchiness. That’s all your beard needs. Always use it on clean hair. Use it as often as needed, a couple of drops suffice.
What's your everyday skincare routine like?
Marc: I have both a morning and a night routine. In the morning, I use the Face Cleanser. Once a week, I clean my hair with our Anti-Dandruff Shampoo. After stepping out of the shower, I use our Anti-Dark Circle Serum, our Salicylic Acid 2% + Niacinamide 3% Serum. My last step is our Mattifying Face Moisturiser with SPF30.
At night, I wash my face with our Face Cleanser and apply our Rich Face Moisturiser.
Kim: I wash my face everyday with our Face Cleanser and then apply our Anti-Dark Circle Serum and our Mattifying Moisturizer. I love the latter! Twice a week, I clean my hair with our Moisturising Shampoo. My last touch is our wax pomade.
Which product is your favourite among the range, and why?
Marc: My fav product is the Horace Face Cleanser. It is the most gentle, most effective face cleanser I have ever used. My skin is sensitive and I live in Paris. I need something gentle yet strong. This is exactly what our Face Cleanser does.
Kim: My favourite is the Horace Mattifying Moisturiser. This product hydrates and protects your skin on a daily basis, with no oily, shimmering effect. Your skin is softer, clearer, hydrated, and without excess residue. I just love the feeling of it!
