Slow Down

Slow Down

    Take a breath
  1. Pause
  2. Play
  3. ReWind

‘Keep going’ is one of the most common expressions at work, gym, and even at home. It is a praise-worthy note, but when the going gets tough, “keep going” can actually cause physical and mental damage which leads people to feel overwhelmed and burnt out.

October 10 is World Mental Health Day and it is a perfect opportunity to make a conscious effort to learn about your mental health and well-being. No one else knows you more than yourself.

Mental Health is as a state of well-being, and maintaining a good, positive mental health can be quite challenging as our everyday stresses can consume us without even realising it.

The theme selected for this year is "Make mental health and well-being for all a global priority". Mental health problems exist in our lives, families, workplaces and communities, impacting everyone. We need to do as much as possible to prevent mental ill-health – as individuals and as a society. We will continue to call on national and local government to prioritise reducing the factors known to pose a risk to people’s mental health, enhancing those known to protect it and creating the conditions needed for people to thrive.

Here at John Bell & Croyden, we are dedicated in helping you achieve a better and healthier lifestyle.

1. Pause.

Take 10 minutes and devote this time purely to unload your mind. As with our physical body, it is important to keep our mind in optimum shape and free of clutter (junk). Giving your brain some downtime can increase productivity and creativity. Indulge yourself in a bathing ritual with Aromatherapy Associate's Revive Evening Bath and Shower Oil – an aromatherapeutic supreme blend of Madagascan Ylang Ylang Patchouli and strengthening Australian Sandalwood to give your body an evening recharge!

2. Play.

There are times when stress can give you that energising adrenaline, but over time it can wear you down and decrease your reasoning ability.

Exercising benefits your mental well-being as your body produces more endorphins that make you feel better. Try walking, cycling, yoga, swimming or even dancing. Discover the Wild Nutrition Vegan Protein + Superfood Blend to support your energy levels, amongst our range of protein powders to support your body and get the most out of your exercise.

3. Rewind.

Take a step back and unfold your daily routine. This can help you identify if there’s something on your mind that is making you anxious or keeping you up at night. Start a conversation with someone over a cup of tea to help you clear your head. Try JP's Originals tea. The Rose Chai is smooth and fragrant of Yunnan green tea, aromatic crushed cardamom & sweet rose perfect for any time of day.
