Alpha Tocopherol is the term used to describe Vitamin E, a fat-soluble vitamin and can naturally be found in nuts, nut oils, olive oil, green leafy vegetables and avocados. It is an essential nutrient as it is the primary antioxidant which contributes to the protection of cells from oxidative stress and damage caused by free radicals. Free radicals are formed when we convert our food into energy, or when we are exposed to air pollution and ultraviolet light from the sun. In addition, the body needs Vitamin E to support the immune system. Eating a healthy and balanced diet should bring you to sufficient levels of Vitamin E but unfortunately the diets of most people do not reach this.Yeast-free selenium has been added to this formula to give you the benefit of this key mineral alongside Vitamin E. Selenium can be naturally found in the soil. It is a vital mineral as it supports the immune system and, as well as Vitamin E, protects the cells from oxidative stress caused by free radical. This mineral can be naturally found in Brazil nuts, eggs, fish and poultry. Making sure your levels of Selenium are adequate will help your hair and nails, as well as support a healthy metabolism.
