We hear from Nuxe's Scientific Communication and Training Director, Ingrid Longuet who delves into the world of Nuxe.

The French brand was founded by Aliza Jabès, and has become a pioneer in natural-origin cosmetology. At Nuxe, each skincare product is formulated and manufactured in France to meet pharmaceutical quality requirements and combines the marvels of nature with the prowess of science, while awakening the senses.

    What are the origins of Nuxe and the inspiration behind the cosmetology range?

    Nature has been a continuous source of inspiration behind Nuxe. Our founder Aliza Jabès has always been fascinated by plants, initially by their fragrance, which was a constant feature of her childhood, and later for their therapeutic properties, which Aliza learned from her Pharmacist father.

    “In the early 90s, as a time-pressed young mother, I dreamt of a multi-purpose skincare product that would beautify the face, body and hair in a single step. I couldn’t find the natural, ultra-sensory product I wanted, so I created it! I devised a unique blend of botanical oils, with a dry oil texture that allows you to get dressed immediately after application. Purchasing a Parisian formulation laboratory enabled me to develop my Huile Prodigieuse®, marking the start of my adventure as an entrepreneur and the birth of Nuxe.”

    Can you tell us about the Huile Prodigieuse®? What is the story behind this iconic product, and why do you think it has gained such a cult following amongst beauty enthusiasts?

    Huile Prodigieuse® was dreamed up by Aliza Jabès, when expecting her first child. She was in search of a natural and lightly fragranced product, which would also moisturise her skin and give an instant beauty fix - all in just one step. Huile Prodigieuse® was designed with the idea in mind of a multi-purpose skincare product, that could adapt to all lifestyles and all women. With all those benefits in mind it quickly become an essential beauty step, first adopted by French then European women, back in 1991. And we believe it has always been sought after due to its natural properties, sensuality and its effectiveness.

    Huile Prodigieuse® is a genuine feat in terms of formulation, with a 98% natural-origin formula and unique dry texture. Containing seven 100% botanical oils (Macadamia, Camellia, Argan, Hazelnut, Borage, Tsubaki and Sweet Almond), with the benefits being to nourish, repair and beautify the face, body and hair, with unparalleled results.

    How does Nuxe adapt products to cater to the diverse skincare needs and preferences?

    When developing our Nuxe products, we adopt a unique vision focused on nature, efficacy and sensoriality, with our customers’ needs and preferences at front of mind. To ensure we cater for everyone we have expanded our ranges to ensure that we have a product suited for all skin types, skin concerns, with formulations and textures for everyone.     What's the Rêve de Miel® collection and how do its active ingredients nourish the body?

    Rêve de Miel® collection is our ultra-comforting care with honey, for a dry and sensitive skin. It contains pure honey, coming either from acacia flowers, or from lavender from Provence.

    Honey is a complex and marvellous substance created through an alchemy between nectar from flowers gathered by bees and the transformation within the beehive. Egyptian and Roman women used honey as a beauty product: its rich content of active molecules makes it a natural ingredient with recognised nourishing and repairing properties.

    This pure natural treasure is blended with precious botanical oils renowned for their nourishing and softening properties on dry to very dry skin.

    This iconic range also stands out with its extraordinarily generous textures: velvety, melt-away and rich, they cloak the skin in comfort and delectable scents.

    Nuxe is known for its natural ingredients. How do you source and select these ingredients to ensure both effectiveness and sustainability?

    Nuxe has 30 years of expertise in natural cosmetology, as well as a passionate R&D team, enabling us to ensure we source and select the right ingredients, while being effective and sustainable at the same time. We understand the rare potential of plants and prioritize exclusive green extraction methods.

    We have more than 40 Nuxe patents in France, which is a result of combining the effective active ingredients, and exclusive action mechanisms. As well as a commitment to continuously improve our formulas, with a clear vision of clean beauty. From all aspects of selecting the raw material, the formulation charter, creating the ideal balance of naturalness, effectiveness, sensoriality and environmental footprint, without compromising on safety.

    What can we expect to see next from Nuxe and look forward to for the future of the brand?

    For the future of Nuxe, we plan to continue developing our iconic Huile Prodigieuse® range, with some very exciting launches happening in 2024. We will also continue to be as innovative with our products and formulations, while maintaining our position as pioneers in natural origin, as well as keeping to our promise of clean beauty and mindset.
