AbScent and John Bell & Croyden partner for smell training to restore and rejuvenate olfactory performance
Thursday, March 3, 2022 - 5:30 PM – 6:30 PM GMT
According to latest data from AbScent, the charity that supports people impacted by all types of smell disorders, more than 3.85million people in the UK are currently affected by smell loss.
Smell training is one of the only treatments proven to improve the sense of smell. In smell training you actively sniff the same four scents every day and concentrate intensively on each scent for about 20 seconds. It is easy, safe and recommended by doctors. Anyone can do smell training if they want to improve their sense of smell.
Chrissi Kelly, founder of AbScent, retains her leading role in developing scientific research to increase understanding of olfactory illnesses. She said,
"Viruses, trauma and even dementia contribute to smell loss, and with disastrous repercussions for mental health, happiness and relationships. There has been a remarkable surge in cases due to Covid-19 and Long Covid. Many people struggle to find help and support. That is where we step in to help. AbScent has developed smell training kits to give people hope and help them retrain their sense of smell."

Take your smell training to a different place with the woodland inspired aromas of Cypress, Juniper, Pine and Cedar.
Using four fragrances drawn from the same family of woody aromas, this uplifting collection challenges you to think about what you’re smelling on a deeper level. Lose yourself in a woodland trail, surrounded by the delicious aromas.
AbScent has teamed up with the fabulous people at Squish to offer you a different way to exercise your sense of smell. Combine sniffing with squishing for a multi-sensory experience using these three colourful scented doughs.
This set of three uses the aroma of lavender, a blend of citrus and a minty blast. These fun doughs have been created to reduce feelings of anxiety, but we've found them another way to focus on your sensory experience as you 'exercise' your nose.
AbScent’s smell training kits are available in three varieties, and can be exported to the USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and South Africa. 100% of proceeds directly support the work of the charity.

About Chrissi Kelly
AbScent was established by Chrissi Kelly who experienced first-hand the huge impact of smell loss and the lack of understanding in medicine and the general community. Following a bad sinus infection in 2012 Chrissi woke up, went into the bathroom, brushed her teeth, and realised she could not smell anything. Panic-stricken, her condition led her to a perfumery course, which in turn led to her development of smell training to help people recover from smell loss. Smell training re-trains the brain to smell by stimulating the olfactory nerve to regenerate.
