Having held the Royal Warrant since 1909 and been pharmacists to Her Majesty the Queen for almost 60 years until 2022, Pharmacist John Bell originally opened his eponymous business on Oxford Street, before relocating to Wigmore Street, where we have served customers since 1912.
Over the years, we’ve had the honour of serving some prolific people, including the Duke of Wellington and Florence Nightingale, both of whom wrote notes to the pharmacy. We also have some special Royal connections, holding the (secret) recipe, and a sample of the famous anointing oil used when a new sovereign is crowned. A replica of the oil is on display in store, as well as some other artefacts from our history.
If you’re more interested in some more modern-day gems, our Swarovski-encrusted mobility scooter is also worth a visit.
Though we’ve been around a really long time, over 200 years, we’ve maintained our commitment to the Health & Wellbeing of London. Today, we continue to strive towards delivering expert advice, cutting edge services, and the very best in innovative products for the whole body and mind.
