Alpha hydroxy acids are the water-soluble exfoliants: glycolic, lactic, mandelic and their relatives. They work across the surface of the skin, loosening the bonds that hold dull, dead cells in place, for a smoother-looking and brighter finish.

Which one you choose comes down to molecule size and how much your skin can take: glycolic is the smallest and most potent, lactic is larger, gentler and hydrating with it, and mandelic is gentler still. Part of our active skincare range.
