Vitamin D appears in skincare far less often than vitamins A, C and E, and it works rather differently. Where those are established cosmetic actives, vitamin D in a formula is generally there as a conditioning and supporting ingredient, often alongside other vitamins in a barrier-focused moisturiser.
An important distinction: applying vitamin D skincare is not a way to address vitamin D levels in the body. That's a nutritional matter – see our vitamin D supplement explainer if that's what you're looking for. Part of our active skincare range.
