We sat down with Milo Pinckney, the creative force behind Rollr, to learn more about what inspired this groundbreaking product and how it’s set to change the way we think about deodorant.
Rollr was born out of a desire to merge sustainability with indulgence in personal care. Because, when we all use deodorant every day for 60 years of our lives, why are we resigned to using chemicals in plastic, why does it have to be ordinary?
In contrast, Rollr is first about proving that a natural, sustainable product can not only perform like a chemical one. Second, and most importantly, Rollr makes the positive impact it has on our bodies and planet part of an elevated everyday experience - one that offers customers pleasure, not compromise, when they least expect it. That’s why we meticulously designed Rollr to upgrade everything about deodorant, to delight every sense in a way that, until now, deodorant has never dared consider.
The conscious hedonist is the person I think we all want to be… We all want to enjoy life, and life is there for the enjoying, but in today’s world we often feel guilty about feeling good due to the state of the world. At Rollr, we love the idea of being consciously hedonistic because it is actually the ultimate form of hedonism. It’s the martini without the hangover. The party without the mess. It’s feeling good about feeling good.

Minimal impact is about designing for minimal waste wherever possible which is why we designed our refills to be as efficient as possible. By simply adding water at home, you save 90% more packaging from being made, shipped and recycled compared to our competitors. The two patents we have pending are a testament to our dedication to innovative design and a true desire to be the leaders in sustainability in every market we go into.
The gemstones are one of the most unique features of Rollr. Each gemstone is chosen not only for its aesthetic beauty but also for its believed wellness properties. For example, Rose Quartz is said to promote emotional healing, while Blue Dumortierite is thought to encourage mental clarity and patience. My personal favourite is Vetiver on Green Aventurine which helps me feel green, grounded and connected to nature. We love the idea of blending science with mystique, and, as each stone is totally unique, it gives every gemstone Rollr a personalised touch that aligns with the user’s needs and energy.
Traditional deodorants tend to rely on harsh chemicals to kill bacteria, but we’ve chosen a more natural and advanced approach. The pro and prebiotics in Rollr create an environment where the "good" bacteria can thrive. This naturally and effectively inhibits the growth of the odour-causing bacteria without any of the typical irritants found in conventional deodorants.
Absolutely. Rollr is specifically designed with sensitive skin in mind. We’ve avoided common irritants like bicarbonate of soda and cornstarch, instead using aloe vera, antioxidants, and softening agents to nourish and soothe the skin. The formula is gentle yet effective, making it ideal for anyone who has had negative reactions to other deodorants in the past.
Each refill lasts around two months with daily use, depending on how much you apply. The refillable system is simple and convenient. You just pour the powder into your Rollr bottle, add water and shake. The sachet is paper-recyclable and the formula equalises to perform as you’d expect within minutes. It’s a really simple way to commit to sustainability without compromising on quality. In fact, we see it as part of the upgrade.
