This is one nutrient where indiscriminate supplementation is not advisable. Too much preformed vitamin A can be harmful. If you are pregnant, trying to conceive, or could become pregnant, avoid supplements containing retinol unless they have been specifically recommended by a healthcare professional. Smokers and people exposed to asbestos should avoid high-dose beta-carotene supplements unless advised by a healthcare professional, as studies have shown an increased risk of lung cancer in these groups.
Vitamin B6, B12 and folate: supporting immune-cell function

Absorption matters as much as intake. Older adults, people using certain medicines such as metformin or proton pump inhibitors, and those with digestive conditions or previous gastrointestinal surgery may not absorb B12 or folate as expected increasing the risk of vitamin B12 deficiency. Vitamin E: protection for cells
