Wellness today can feel like a lot. Endless trends, complicated routines, and products that promise everything but explain very little. Inora was born from a desire to strip all that back.

Founder Sofia Downing set out to create something simpler: science-backed, liquid formulations that work with the body's natural systems, rather than against them or around them.

In this Q&A, Sofia talks candidly about what inspired Inora, why she's convinced that simplicity and consistency, not complexity, are what actually drive long-term health, and how she's reshaping the daily wellness ritual around three things she refuses to compromise on: efficacy, transparency, and trust.

What inspired you to launch Inora?

Inora came from a frustration I had with the supplement industry. Looking after your health had somehow become incredibly complicated. People were taking handfuls of capsules every day, often chosen based on trends rather than what their body actually needed. It felt overwhelming, inconsistent and, in many cases, ineffective.

I wanted to create something that made supporting your health feel simpler and more intentional. Rather than focusing on individual ingredients, we looked at the body's interconnected systems and designed formulations around the concerns people experience every day, whether that's energy, sleep or long term cellular health. My goal was to create supplements that people would genuinely enjoy taking and could trust to become part of their daily routine.

What advantages do liquid supplements offer compared to traditional capsules or powders?

The best formulation in the world only matters if your body can actually absorb and use it.

Liquid supplements don't have to go through the same process of breaking down as capsules, which can make nutrients more readily available for absorption. They are also easier to take consistently, and consistency is one of the most important factors in seeing meaningful results over time.

For us, the format was never about being different for the sake of it. It was about creating a daily ritual that feels enjoyable, effortless and supports better compliance because if you don't take your supplements regularly, they simply can't do their job.

How do you ensure Inora's formulations are both effective and trustworthy?

We start with the science rather than the marketing.

Every formulation is developed alongside doctors and informed by the latest evidence, using clinically studied ingredients at meaningful doses. We spend a great deal of time thinking not only about what ingredients to include, but how they work together. The body doesn't function in isolation, so neither should the ingredients within a formula.

We're also incredibly selective about quality. From sourcing to manufacturing, every decision is made with efficacy, safety and transparency in mind. We wanted to build the kind of company that earns trust over time rather than relying on bold claims.

What are the most important daily habits for supporting long term health and vitality?

The basics will always matter most.

Prioritising quality sleep, eating a balanced diet, moving your body regularly and managing stress consistently will have a far greater impact than chasing the latest wellness trend. Supplements should never replace those foundations, they should support them.

Health isn't built through dramatic changes. It's usually the result of small habits repeated consistently over many years.

What do you think people misunderstand most about supplements and nutrition today?

I think we've become conditioned to believe there's a single ingredient for every problem.

In reality, the body is incredibly interconnected. Your energy is influenced by your sleep. Your sleep is influenced by stress. Your ability to recover affects how you feel the following day. Looking at one nutrient in isolation rarely tells the full story.

That's why Inora takes a more systems based approach. Rather than asking, "What's the one ingredient for energy?" we ask, "What systems need supporting for someone to genuinely feel more energised?"

How has your own approach to wellbeing changed since launching Inora?

It's made me appreciate that health is far more about consistency than perfection.

Like many people, I used to focus on individual habits or nutrients. Building Inora has reinforced how interconnected everything is and how much the small decisions we make every day shape our long term wellbeing.

I've also become much less interested in optimisation for its own sake. I believe wellness should fit into your life, not take it over. If supporting your health feels overly complicated, it's probably not sustainable.
