Beneath the Surface
Skincare has become fluent in hero ingredients. Retinol. Vitamin C. Peptides. Collagen. Each arrives with its own promise and, increasingly, its own aisle.
I start somewhere else. Beauty begins with your biology. Skin does not work ingredient by ingredient. It works as a system, and that system is built on protein.

Ageing is not a Surface Event
Ageing begins in the cell, long before it reaches the mirror.
Over time, everyday stressors including sunlight, pollution and the natural ageing process can trigger oxidation within that protein network. Think of oxidation as biological rust, the same process that corrodes metal or browns a cut apple, quietly acting on skin's proteins long before anything changes on the surface.
The scientific term for that daily load is the exposome: the sum of everything skin meets in a day. Pollution, UV, particulate matter, the cumulative wear of modern life. I call it the urban burden, because that is what it feels like on a Tuesday in central London.
Skin is perpetually rebuilding what is continuously being compromised. Most skincare responds to the visible consequence. I wanted to work at the level where it begins.
Measured, Not Simply Claimed
If you are going to talk about science, be precise about what the science shows. In a pharmacy, that matters more than anywhere.
Our testing was conducted by OxiProteomics, an independent laboratory specialising in oxidative-damage proteomics. They examine protein carbonylation, a measurable marker of oxidative damage within the skin's protein network, using advanced immunofluorescence imaging on human skin samples under pollution and environmental challenge.
Unlike a claim, a biomarker can be measured before and after. It turns invisible damage into evidence.
In that testing, skin samples exposed to those stressors showed higher levels of damaged proteins and lower levels of repair proteins. When samples were treated with the Tripeptide Antioxidant Day Cream before exposure, they showed significantly less new damage. When the Peptide Longevity Serum was applied after exposure, damaged proteins were significantly reduced and repair proteins increased.
We are equally clear about what this is. Independent laboratory testing on human skin samples. Not a consumer study, and not a measure of how skin looks. Data on file.
We are as precise about which formulas it covers. The Peptide Longevity Serum and the Tripeptide Antioxidant Day Cream are the two supported by product-specific studies alongside this proteomic imaging. The cleanser, the night cream and the eye serum are built on a validated formulation strategy and ingredients selected for their established cosmetic benefits. Our research on protein carbonylation has been accepted for presentation at the European Society for Dermatological Research annual meeting, with the abstract published in the Journal of Investigative Dermatology.

The Bioretinol Overnight Rich Cream supports the skin's natural overnight renewal with DermaGenix7™, a complex of botanical actives including a plant-derived bio-retinol alternative from Bidens pilosa. No retinol, no retinoid.
The Sculpting Eye Serum carries its own targeted peptide, formulated for the eye area.
