Losing your hair can be a genuinely tough experience, emotionally as much as anything else. And it doesn't help that the market is flooded with products that either don't work or feel like something you'd rather not put on your scalp in the first place.

That's the gap Scandinavian Biolabs set out to fill, building a brand around real science, honest communication, and a focus on keeping hair healthy for the long haul rather than chasing quick fixes.

We sat down with Niels Konradi, Co-Founder and CFO, to talk about what sparked the idea for the company, the research behind what goes into products, and the everyday habits that actually make a difference for hair health.

How has your personal experience shaped the brand and its mission?

I lost most the hair on my crown by my early twenties, hair was very thin. I couldn't find a meaningful solution for myself between hormone-inhibiting drugs, harsh topicals compounds or invasive solutions like transplants. We wanted to make something that worked with your body, not against it. Therefore, we gathered the leading dermatologists and biochemists in Scandinavia to make safe formulations backed by scientific evidence. Rooted in nature and developed with science. We are providing an honest solution and always aim to deliver our products alongside knowledge and education about hair, scalp, and ingredients.

What makes Scandinavian Biolabs different from traditional hair-loss solutions?

For us, it's about offering a different path. We don't believe people should have to choose between living with hair loss or committing to treatments they're not comfortable with. Our approach is preventative and holistic. Instead of relying on pharmaceutical ingredients, we focus on creating the optimal environment for healthy hair growth through biotechnology, naturally derived ingredients, and clinically tested formulations.

Just as importantly, we're transparent about what our products can and cannot do. We believe trust is built through evidence, not exaggerated claims.

Bio-Pilixin is at the heart of your products. What makes it unique?

Bio-Pilixin was developed after years of collaborating with scientists and hair experts to address multiple biological factors involved in hair thinning. Many products only focus on one aspect of hair loss, but Bio-Pilixin was designed to support three key areas: helping rebalance the hair growth cycle, improving scalp microcirculation, and delivering active compounds where they're needed most: around the hair follicles. It's also drug-free and clinically tested, which means we can back our approach with measurable results.

What are the biggest misconceptions people have about hair loss?

That treating just the hair strands is enough and not keeping a clean and balanced environment on the scalp. Just because the scalp’s mostly hidden underneath the hair it doesn’t mean you don’t need to keep it clean and balanced every day. Quite the opposite. Beyond buildup from products, the hair simply gathers so much just from the air. And it’s such a delicate environment and microbiome on the scalp. Cleansing daily or every other day is fundamental to any healthy scalp and thus hair.

What daily habits can make the biggest difference to long-term hair health?

Consistency is the most underrated factor. Hair grows slowly, so meaningful improvements come from building sustainable daily habits rather than looking for quick fixes.

What Scandinavian Biolabs is really pushing back against is the assumption that dealing with hair loss means drastic measures or complicated routines. Instead, they've built their approach around solid research paired with genuine care for scalp and hair health as a whole, giving people something they can actually trust. And if this conversation makes anything clear, it's that the real foundations of healthier hair aren't flashy: they're consistency, understanding what you're doing and why, and keeping your expectations grounded in reality.
